How to read an ingredient list

Ingredients are listed in descending order of concentration until they fall below one percent — after which brands may order them however they like.
That single rule explains most marketing. If a hero active appears after the fragrance, it is present in a gesture rather than a dose.
We publish every percentage that matters, and we keep the list short enough to read on the box.
